Please help SGP provide travel support for students and postdocs attending the 2019 SGP-SOBLA Symposium
This year's Symposium will be a joint venture with the Sociedad de Biofisicos Latino Americanos (SOBLA) in Valparaiso Chile. Please visit the web site: bit.ly/sgp-sobla2019. There is an impressive group of chairs and speakers. We are honored to have Dr. Francisco Bezanilla and Dr. Mario Amzel to give the Friend of Physiology and the SOBLA lectures, respectively. In addition, we are delighted to announce you that our long-time friends Clay Armstrong and Clara Franzini-Armstrong are making the trip to Valparaiso to join us for the entire meeting.
Already we have a great pool of registrants, but we are noticing a lag of students and postdocs from Latin America. As you might hear from the news, many countries in Latin America are experiencing profound economic struggles. SGP would like to join SOBLA efforts to help Latin American students and postdocs to attend the meeting by providing them support for their trip. You all know how good and hard-working these kids are. Please join us in the effort to bring these trainees to Valparaiso by personal donations to the SGP, which can be tax deductible. We are hoping to raise at least $3,000, which would provide 5 full scholarships or 10 partial scholarships.
